01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Situated in the heart of Reims at 23 Rue du Temple, AROMA effortlessly blends the best of French and Italian culinary traditions, making it a standout destination for food and drink enthusiasts. This charming venue shines as a multifaceted restaurant, beer store, cocktail bar, tapas bar, and wine bar, delivering an inviting ambiance that caters to both casual lunches and lively evening gatherings.

AROMA’s menu is a carefully curated celebration of flavors, ranging from classic French dishes to Italian favorites, alongside an enticing selection of tapas that encourages shared dining experiences. Diners consistently praise the delicious tapas and main courses, which showcase fresh ingredients and thoughtful preparation. The sirloin steak, though met with mixed reviews regarding its cut, is elevated by a rich, velvety gorgonzola sauce that indulges the palate in a luxurious dance of creamy and savory notes. Complementing the food is a variety of well-crafted drinks—from robust wines that mirror the region’s heritage to inventive cocktails that brighten any evening.

The atmosphere at AROMA is warm and inviting, with tasteful decor that feels both modern and cozy. Guests often remark on the personal touch delivered by the staff, especially the attentive hosting by Marge and friendly service from Madie, which transforms a simple meal into a memorable dining event. The presence of a friendly dog who makes rounds to greet guests adds a delightful and unique charm, making visitors feel instantly welcomed and at home.

While AROMA can get quite busy, especially on weekend nights, this bustling energy speaks to its popularity and local appeal. Some guests have noted occasional slow service during peak times; however, the quality of food and drinks coupled with the convivial atmosphere more than compensates for any wait.

Whether you're seeking a mid-day bite with freshly prepared caesar salad and foie gras, a relaxing place to enjoy parmesan-topped French fries and a glass of wine, or a vibrant spot to sample a variety of tapas alongside expertly mixed cocktails, AROMA promises a delightful culinary journey. Its richly layered menu and welcoming spirit make it a quintessential destination for anyone looking to savor the tastes and hospitality of Reims.

Next time you find yourself in the Champagne region, let AROMA be your go-to haven for a flavorful escape that honors tradition while embracing conviviality and comfort.

Not the best steak I’ve had, with chunks of fat, but the gorgonzola sauce was very good. It was crowded when we went there on a Saturday night, so expect delays in the order. Will come back to try different cuts of meat this time.

Easy to find, nice decor and they have a doggie who visits all of the guests. Drinks were good, food was ok too.

The menu has a lovely choice of tapas and main plates, and food was delicious! Unfortunately service was slow, with our drinks arriving only after our starter had already been served. I assume this was due to a very busy night so that this is not a regular occurrence. Otherwise a lovely place to eat and enjoy a drink.

We went here for my birthday dinner because it was the same address (was a cafe at the time) where author Kristin Harmel met with a local historian to research her book, The Winemakers Wife, which inspired our trip to champagne. We were greeted by Marge who was an incredible hostess and paid us plenty of visits throughout the meal. Our server, Madie, was so friendly and allowed us to practice our French! What an incredible spot, would recommend

After a long day in our visit in December, we were glad we found this restaurant that offered a varied menu. We ordered drinks and waited for our food. We had the french fires with parmesan cheese, foie gras, caesar salad and sirloin steak. Good food for a long day!
